Well Grounded Rainbow Event • January 24 and 25 2023
Our Rainbow event, held in Douala, Cameroon in January, proved to be both memorable and edifying for us all. The event brought together civil society organizations with whom we have worked in the past and development partner organizations to explore ideas and inspiration and to share Well Grounded’s strategic plan 2023-26.
Well Grounded’s work seeks to help CSOs in Cameroon who are engaged with social and environmental justice to gain the power to influence natural resource governance and empower communities to determine their own future.
The world café tour gave participants the opportunity to learn more about our Organizational Development for CSOs, Change Facilitators for Independent Consultants (Facilitators for Change programme), Eco-feminist Leadership, Indigenous Peoples Leadership, Community and Asset Based Approach (CABA), and Transforming Power programs through our discovery spaces, which were facilitated by a variety of organizational development and leadership practitioners.
The CSOs TFRD, CERAF Nord, and ASD – as members of the 2017 cohort of Well Grounded’s Facilitators for Change program – reported significant progress in organisational change following their engagement with the programme.
Emerging ideas for future collaborations were outlined – including how Well Grounded can help prepare organizations to access and/or apply for its programs.
Also discussed was the idea of local CSOs and INGOs working together at the national and/or regional level to develop a multi-faceted support mechanism– inspired by “champion support approaches” which have been trialled locally.
