Well Grounded is pleased to invite you to our third event in our series aimed at discovering the positive heritage of the Indigenous Peoples of the Congo Basin.
Access to forest areas in order to maintain traditional lifestyles is a major challenge for the Indigenous Peoples of the Congo Basin region. Whether due to conservation projects or development, these peoples have often found themselves excluded or on the periphery of these lands. But Indigenous Peoples and their partners are leading a range of initiatives to address these challenges and secure land. This online event will focus on sharing their stories.
Main speaker:
Raphaël Mboyo Bikopo (DRC): Raphaël is an Indigenous leader and technical assistant with the REPALEF network of Indigenous and local populations managing forest ecosystems in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is also engaged in the promotion and defence of their rights, with experience in forest monitoring and conflict transformation in community development processes.
