20 November, 2023

We are thrilled to share that our longstanding colleague Marcienne Emougou will be taking up a new position with Well Grounded as Regional Lead for our activities in the Congo Basin region.

Marcienne has a background in urban planning and the environment, and joined Well Grounded in 2018. She has played a number of roles at Well Grounded spanning our core programmes: she has led organisation development support with CSO partners in Cameroon, as well as spearheading our skills and learning programme around asset based community development approaches. Over the last two years, she has played a key role as our Country Focal Point for Cameroon, while laying the foundations for our Indigenous Peoples Leadership Programme in an interim capacity.

The newly established Regional Lead role aims to reinforce Well Grounded’s presence and networks in the region, while ensuring our strategies and activities respond to the evolving context and continue to make a difference for CSOs and their leaders.

Marcienne’s journey with Well Grounded has been characterised by unwavering dedication and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the Congo Basin. Her experience, dedication, and vision will be invaluable assets to the Well Grounded Leadership team.

Marcienne said: “I’m excited to be taking up the role of Regional Lead with Well Grounded, at a time when interest in the Congo Basin region is growing, and our mission to support the emergence of an inclusive civil society is more vital than ever. In this role, I hope to contribute to weaving a diverse network of local change makers and their supporters, working together to co-create solutions for people and nature.”
