- Session 1: Thursday 6 October 2022, 8h30’ am (GMT) / 9h30′ am (WAT)
- Host : Marcienne Emougou
We have developed and implemented a supportive programme for Civil Society Organisations in the Congo Basin inspired by the ABCD approach to enable them to direct their own destiny and actions. In their role of supporting local and indigenous communities, ACCA would empower CSOs to help communities to decide for themselves what they want to achieve and what changes they need to achieve. In implementing ACCA, we have visualised three trajectories that of Well Grounded, that of the accompanied CSOs and that of the communities benefiting ACCA support from CSOs. These paths, which are originally distinct, feed off each other. What are the fundamentals, based on ABCD principles and Organisational Development practice, that create an enabling environment for change to occur through the three trajectories shaped by horizontal collaboration and co-responsibility in commitments?
- Session 2 : Thursday 6 October 2022, 14h00’ pm (GMT) / 15h00′ pm (WAT)
- Host : Danny Mungamuni
- Co-Hosts: Well Grounded ACCA Practitioners
The Covid 19 pandemic, while restricting our field activities, led Well Grounded to creatively propose to some twenty participants from Cameroon, Congo and DRC, to follow a learning path on Community and Asset Based Approaches. The first group of participants, from January to September 2021, has taken its first small steps and some of these practitioners would like to share with the ABCD audience how they manage to interest the communities they work with in this approach, the successes they have achieved, the challenges they face and the lessons they have learned.
- Session 3 : Friday 07 October 2022, 14h30’ pm(GMT) / 15h30′ (WAT)
- Host : Audrey Ibin
Well Grounded’s ACCA programme was built around three trajectories with co-constructed facilitation approaches. The first trajectory observed is that of the Well Grounded team of facilitators. The second trajectory is the result of the Well Grounded facilitators’ support to the ACCA champions of civil society organisations. The third one brings together CSOs and the communities they support. During this journey, ABCD practices and tools were tested. We have drawn lessons on the use of ABCD tools that we wish to share with the rest of the community of practitioners to inform how the Congo Basin context has influenced the ACCA Well Grounded programme pathways.
