Facilitators for Change Programme

Well Grounded’s experience in Africa shows that high quality in-country consultants, experienced in the field of organisational development (OD), are rare and sometimes non-existent. This gap is a major constraint on developing credible, collaborative, inclusive and effective local civil society organisations. To address this, Well Grounded has developed the Facilitators for Change (F4C) learning programme.

This 12-month programme equips highly committed individuals with not only the technical skills to be an effective facilitator, but also and equally importantly, the soft skills to inspire trust, to create a space for all voices within an organisation and to enable them to be effective change agents.

F4C programme aims

•  Enable local consultants to work more effectively and with commitment to change.

•  Shift the power in the sector by building organisation development skills in Central Africa.

•  Value different ways of knowing and different forms of knowledge in relation to capacity strengthening in Africa and bring that into processes and frameworks.

•  Build a network of inspirational and committed organisation development consultants in Central Africa.

The F4C programme equips highly committed individuals with the technical skills to be effective facilitators and the soft competencies to inspire trust thereby creating spaces for all voices within their organisations

The F4C programme partners

Well-Grounded values partnerships and is continuously developing existing and new partnerships. For the F4C programme we invited three organisations to collaborate with us during the design and rolling out of the training.

The values and objectives of these organisations are aligned with ours while we value their longterm  experience in different areas of Organisation Development, coaching and learning. Each organisation is contributing to a specific stage or process of the F4C journey. We have Footstep, Intrac and The Kairos projects.

Footsteps

Within the F4C programme, Footsteps provides mentoring on the F4C general  programme design and specifically on the design of the residential retreat. To capitalize on learnings from the implementation of the programme, they are also facilitating learning reflections with the F4C core team and the learning council Group bringing together all implementing partners.

For more information on their work, please visit the website of  Footsteps.

INTRAC

INTRAC is pleased to work together with Well Grounded on the Facilitator for Change (F4C) learning programme where they are contributing in the implementation of phase 4 of the programme which consists of “Discerning the CSOs context environment” by providing to F4C participants reflective individual and group activities on the online e-learning platform in relation to the Civil Society context and consultant’s role in that context and facilitating online webinars. They also provide mentoring to participants during the design (Phase 5) and implementation (Phase 6) of OD interventions.

For more information on their work, please visit  INTRAC’s website.

The Kairos Project (TKP)

The Kairos Project is also supporting the programme by carrying out the following activities:

  1. Design and analysing the aptitude self-assessment for F4C participants ;
  2. Designing and facilitating online workshops for F4C participants during the “Coaching Immersion” phase ;
  3. Facilitating virtual sessions with the coaches.
